United Way of Effingham County Campaign

United Way Has Record Breaking Year in 2007!

United Way of Effingham County has record-breaking year in its history by raising $275,103.  The goal for the campaign was $245,000.  The 2007 campaign raised $16,465 more than the 2006 campaign.  The campaign officially closed January 31, 2008. 

Funds generated from the campaign are distributed to the 20 local partner agencies.  These agencies include;  Arthritis Foundation, Boy Scouts of America-Lincoln Trail Council, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) of Effingham County, Catholic Charities, CEFS Golden Circle Nutrition Program, CEFS Literacy Program, CEFS Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), Effingham Child Development Center, Effingham County Committee on Aging, Effingham County Family YMCA, Effingham County FISH Human Services, Effingham County Operation Snowball, Effingham County Search & Rescue, Effingham County Youth Commission, Girl Scouts USA-River Bluffs Council, Kids Hope United-Hudelson Region, Lutheran Child and Family Services, Oneighty, Sexual Assault and Family Emergencies (SAFE), and Stop Woman Abuse Now (SWAN). 

Many of the Agencies would not be able to provide services to Effingham County residents without the contributions made by local individuals and businesses.  The agencies will benefit greatly from the excess raised because they need the funds to survive and can now help more residents in Effingham County because of this.   

The Board of Directors would like to thank everyone who donated to the 2007-2008 campaign, and the local employers who ran their campaign this year, and look forward to their participation in the future.  Your donation will help make a difference in “What Matters” to Effingham County!
